This is not a step by step manual for what to do with your new baby. It’s a guarantee that you already know what to do! Think about it. Our first language is energy. When you calm yourself enough to pick up on the energy, you will know what your baby is requiring or desiring.
I can already hear you asking, “So why don’t I feel like that? I’m so overwhelmed. I don’t know what to do!” but that is because you are picking up on everybody else thinking that they don’t know what to do, and you think it’s yours. If you are reading this website, you are the type of person who can tap in to their knowing.
We are all so aware, that we often don’t know what is ours and what is not. It is when we buy into everybody else’s thoughts, feelings and emotions that we feel overwhelmed; because it is not true for us. The key to not getting caught up in everything that we are picking up on,...
'Burnout’ is a word that comes up often in business, and in life. And there are so many strategies to deal with it or prevent it. What I have come to know from working with many executives over time, is that it really boils down to being mindful and listening to your body, rather than strict rules about what you can and can’t do or should and shouldn’t do.
When you have a lot going on, you can tend to become rather myopic and just focus on the task at hand. If this is ongoing, that’s when the typical signs and symptoms of ‘burnout’ can occur. It’s an expansion and a broadening of what you allow yourself to perceive that is required. That way, the body for example, doesn’t have to hit you with a metaphorical sledgehammer to get your attention. And, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to cut down on your work load, or only work certain hours, etc. Everyone is individual and has unique needs. Some people thrive on having a lot to...
A topic that comes up in business often is the fear of failing. It is a topic that is shared at all levels of employees, across women and men, and no matter how successful or senior they may be in their current positions. The irony is that because most people fear the unknown, they start to create the worst case scenario in their head. The perceived fear stops them in their tracks; creating a moment of paralysis that distracts them from what they can truly accomplish.
Get out of your head
If you are willing to clear your mind, you may find that the situation or task at hand may be simpler than you were actually creating in your head. You can use your breath to bring your focus beyond the perceived fear. The following breathing exercise is a quick way to provide clarity, bring fresh oxygen into your body, lungs, and brain while also slowing down your heart rate.
Tool: Sit down, or in a standing position, take a breath from under your feet and bring the breath up to your head; then...
Oh boy time sure does pass quickly, it’s that time of year again! A time that brings joy to so many people and at the same time brings anxiety, sadness, and stress to so many others.
For me the holidays have historically been one of the most special times in the year. It would start a few months before Christmas as I would start to explore gifts and treats for friends, family and clients. My most favorite time was catching up with my kids, husband and family on Christmas Day when the rush of the year would actually disappear.
This year was very different. I knew my kids would be visiting their father for Christmas and our celebrations would be delayed by a few days. Instead of the joy of the holidays I became even more aware of the unhappiness and stress people experience during the holidays.
In preparation of the holidays, I offered two special gifts for my clients and participants of my classes around the world. They were tools they can...
What is the first thing you think about when you hear ‘Happy New Year!”
New Year’s Resolutions are the number one thing most people think about. All the ways they would like to change their body, health, career, etc.
The biggest challenge with resolutions is that most people have already determined something is broken, bad or wrong that needs to be fixed in the new year. In order to meet the resolution, or to gauge how things are going, people have to constantly judge themselves. Judgment doesn’t create anything. Judgment kills everything. Most people set up some high expectations they do not think they can even reach for their resolutions and then in a short period of time stop or give up on them.
For this year, what if you had a different perspective of the resolutions you had to create?
What if it was not about everything that you have to fix or change and instead it was about highlighting what you would like to add to your life or career?
What we think,...
Do You Work Over-Time For Your Fears?
This is an intentional play on words. You could, literally, always be working overtime in your job because you have a fear of losing your job. Or, you could be a slave to your fears and working all of your fears overtime in every aspect of your life, not just business.
Fear is a distraction. It is not creative. It does not assist you to achieve or avoid – anything. All distractions stop you from connecting with that which lies underneath, usually your creativity and power.
It’s not about examining your past to understand what caused you to be this way. It’s about what you truly desire to create as your life and your business, and whether the choices you are making are contributing to that outcome.
Sounds simplistic, I know, but it really does start here. Whenever you catch yourself in your ‘fears’, which are not real (remember, they are only a...
Are you hiding behind your work? Your roles? Your past? Your life?
What if it were actually possible to create your life the way you desire it to be; rather than just put up with your life, because that’s the family you were born into or because you were never educated, or because, because, because?

“But who am I to do that?”, you say. “I have no influence. I can’t change things. I am a nobody.”
You start by changing those thoughts. Every single “but” that you have, are you willing to throw them out the door? Are you willing to no longer have those excuses for not even trying?
Start creating the life you truly desire, today, with these incredibly simple yet highly effective processes to increase your influence right away!
Can soap create anything? It’s really about …
This is your life. Are you choosing it? Every single minute of every single day?
We get so caught up in routines, and busy-ness, that we forget we are creating our lives with every single choice we make. When we ‘switch off’ and just perform tasks without really thinking about them, we are literally wasting millions of possibilities to form and mold and create our lives in the way that we truly desire.
Think about it. Do you just continue to use the same soap that you always have; just because you always have? Or do you choose to use that soap every single time, because you love it? Have you even considered the possibility that you might enjoy other soaps as well? Or is it a too trivial topic to be worthy of consideration?
It might just be soap, but take a moment to ponder the energy behind each act; the act of...
Are you aware of your business finances? Do you know exactly how much it costs to run your business? Do you know how much your business has earned this month? This quarter? This year so far?
So many people just operate their businesses with absolutely no idea of the financials; no idea of how much is coming in or going out and whether or not they are even in the black or red. And for so many different reasons; fear of the unknown, suspicions that you aren’t doing very well and you don’t want to face that, shame and embarrassment around earning money or asking people for money – the list could go on and on. In fact, there could be as many reasons as there are individuals in business.
That’s why you need to be brutally honest with yourself when looking at finances. In this reality, there is so much judgment around money. It’s a judgeable offence...
Relationship is not just about intimate relationships. It’s in every aspect of what we do; your children, your colleagues, even people you meet on the street. That’s why it’s so important to know what works for you, and with you, in relationship; to create greater relationships in every area of your life.
And, if a relationship doesn’t work for you, you don’t have to be there. Knowing this gives you the space to make different choices, whether it’s making changes within your existing relationships or choosing to leave. You don’t need to destroy something to create something. Ask, “What change can I be here that would create what I am asking for?”
It all stems from who you be and what you create in the world. Greater awareness gives you the space to choose what you truly desire. We often use other people as a reason and justification to separate ourselves from who we actually would like to...
